Thought I would take a scenic route through gold country on #49. The road is very narrow in spots, and very difficult to maneuver with a 27 foot trailer. It was also very hot and dry with lots of dead brush next to the road. Seemed much worse than anything I had seen in Southern California. Very relieved to see highway 50, a “regular” highway.
Stayed at the Placerville KOA. There were lots of beautiful ducks, as well as the guy below.
